Profile
Mr. Koo started as an in-house attorney at KBS Legal Office and served as the head of the Legal Department, head of the Innovation Promotion Department, head of the Strategic Planning Department, head of the Intellectual Property Department, and deputy director. He is currently a board member of the Korean Entertainment Law Society.
Mr. Koo has deep experience in complex copyright issues related to video works such as music, plays, and performers through copyright negotiations, copyright policy formulation, and dispute resolution with the Korean Music Copyright Association, the Korean Broadcast Writers Association, and the Korean Broadcast Performers' Rights Association. He also has extensive experience in copyright infringement enforcement for video works.
As an in-house counsel at KBS, he has also gained expertise in the field of defamation, including winning the case of Champtoe One's ochre packs, which was an issue in PD Lee Young-don's consumer complaint program. He has also gained practical experience in various fields such as human resources, labor, and fair trade at KBS, the national flagship broadcaster.
